the Story

The name St. Clare honors the patron saint of needlework, a figure associated with clarity and devotion. She serves as a reminder that what is thoughtfully made endures.

Each St. Clare piece is designed with respect for history, symbolism, and craft. Whether played, displayed, or passed down, our work is created to last — honoring both the traditions behind it and the hands that will carry it forward.

From the Founders

We created St. Clare Mahjong to honor the artistry we love — the rhythm of needlework, the visual language of tiles, and the discipline shared by both practices. In needlework and mahjong alike, mastery is earned over time, stitch by stitch, hand by hand.

Our first collection lives where heritage meets design, bringing together traditions shaped by hand and guided by meaning. Every St. Clare product reflects our respect for culture, craft, and the sense of connection formed when needles move, tiles shuffle, and people gather.

St. Clare Mahjong is a tribute to those who stitched with care and gathered to play long before us, and to those who recognize that both needle and tile carry stories worth preserving.

Thank you for being here.
